Homes, condos and land sales for January were $96.65 million. The Aspen real estate market has shown a healthy increase in sales of over 15 percent from 2011.
We had a little of a slowdown the last two months of 2011, but we are back to a great start for 2012. 2010 finished with a sales total of $1.26 billion, 2011 finished with $1.27 billion, and 2009 marked our bottom of only about $1 million. At the height of the Aspen Snowmass real estate market, we were seeing over $2 billion in sales. So, we are a steady paced recovery.
Average home prices for Aspen homes have also increased 12% in 2012.
The negative news this year is for fractional ownership which has plunged. Sales for January are off by 74% and the numbers of transactions are down 71% to 12.
